Day
1: The Evangelical Congregations in the
Tole Region of Ethiopia
For sustenance in their mission,
evangelism, and outreach
For spiritual growth for all believers
and the discipleship of new believers
For strength to face and withstand
persecution
That their words, actions, and lives
would be true representations of Christ and His teachings
That a movement for Christ would be
established in the village
Day
2: Our Walk
That we would always place ourselves in
His will and follow His way for us
That we seek His glory and not our own;
that our ministry would be characterized by humility and a laying-down of our
pride and self-seeking motives.
For a fruitful ten weeks of service to
the Lord
For actions, attitudes, responses, and
ministries that show love and respect for those we will live among
Day
3: TEAM Network Ministries
Health Initiatives: water well installation and rehabilitation,
latrines, fuel-efficient and clean burning safety stoves, The Early Bird
de-worming project, Meals 4 Multitudes, medical teams.
Spiritual Ministries: children’s Vacation Bible School, women’s
community discipleship, the Rural Pastors’ Bible Institute, church outreach and
discipleship, church construction for Bantu and Abebee churches, possible new
church plants.
Day
4: Adjustments
For the five of us as we adjust to life
in a new culture, new environment, and unfamiliar ways of living daily living
For Logan, Joshua and Matthew’s hearts,
emotions, attitudes, and reactions as they experience this newness
Health, access to necessary treatment
and medications, safety, and protection while we are traveling and in country
That we would be able to combat
physical, emotional, and spiritual fatigue
Day
5: Our Families
For our parents and siblings who are
sacrificing as we go this summer, particularly Megan’s parents (Tom and Betty) and Larry’s parents (Larry and Linda).
For peace of mind for worried
grandparents and for comfort when they long for our boys
For reliable forms of communication,
phone service in the village, and plentiful opportunities to talk/Skype
For Larry’s brother-in-law, Russell as
he travels to serve with a team June 20-28, and for Larry’s mother, Linda as
she visits us June 26-July 8
Day
6: Work
For the work we will accomplish for the
TEAM Network: coordination of visiting U.S. teams, coordination of Health
Initiative projects, evaluation of ministry projects, assessment of future
ministries
For our roles in the local church:
outreach and discipleship in the church, evangelism classes in biblical
storytelling, encouragement for mission pastors, identification of new church
plant sites
Day
7: Final Prayers
That we would quickly and easily make
strides in language acquisition and cultural awareness
For the development of relationships in
the community
For this summer to be a time of
fruitful and intense spiritual growth for us
That through our experiences this
summer, God would reveal His next step in this journey to us
